Chicken Pox Vaccine

Chickenpox is a contagious infection causing a rash on the skin. Chickenpox can be itchy and spotty, irritating the individual infected.  

Those who can receive this vaccine are individuals:  

• Healthy, non-immune patients.  
• Patients from 12 months of age.  
• Health workers who have patient contact.  
• Laboratory staff.  
• Contacts of immunocompromised patients, particularly where continuing close contact is unavoidable.  
• Susceptible individuals who have been exposed to chickenpox within 3 days of exposure.
